Analyzing 4.5 million conversations across Claude’s free and pro versions, Anthropic found most users prioritize work-related tasks, especially content creation. When emotional topics arise, users often seek advice on mental health, growth planning, or communication—focused on self-improvement and emotional management.
While some users may shift to seeking companionship during loneliness or low moods, such transitions occur in less than 50-round long dialogues and remain extremely rare.
